The golf down the stretch at The Open was some of the most dramatic we’ve seen in a long time. With the leaders moving to the back-9 it looked like nearly a dozen players had a chance at the title. But the course and the pressure proved to be too much for most. Ultimately it was Francesco Molinari who stared down Carnoustie, performed brilliantly, and took home the championship to become Italy’s first major winner.
Let’s look back on how the last few holes played out via Twitter:

For all the fun today, 18 playing downwind is just a huge, huge bummer.— Shane Bacon (@shanebacon) July 22, 2018
I hate when someone yells in my backswing and I finish one-handed and miss the fairway to the right by an entire yard.— Jason Sobel (@JasonSobelTAN) July 22, 2018

What a round by @F_Molinari. Played with him Thursday-Friday, not surprised! Guy is the hottest player on the planet currently. Bogey free out there today is a championship round— Justin Thomas (@JustinThomas34) July 22, 2018
